I was hesitating coming here, but I was craving some Latin food. I used to frequent a Peruvian restaurant in Norwalk, and nothing of the same quality and price point comes to mind in Danbury. So, I took a chance and am so happy that I did... the server working spoke a little English, so that helped. I ordered the bistec encebollado, and it was fantastic! And they give you complimentary chips and salsa to start. It was a nice, quiet late lunch around 2 p.m. and for a $17 meal, it was worth it. On my second visit, I tried the caldo de gallina (chicken soup) omg, it was soo good, I came back the next day to get it again. I had a cold and it was perfect comfort food! And on another visit, I tried the caldo de pata. OMG. It was a fantastic dish! I'm hooked.

Server was extremely attentive, informed me of karaoke activities while I placed my takeout order. Authentic music played while I sat outside sipping on a beer in their outdoor seating area. Food was delicious. Rice, beans, sweet plantains, steak, pork chops, wings, and fries all tasted delicious. All of my entrees came with this purple pickled salad that was very tasty. I am writing this review as I wait for my second takeout meal with Los Andes.

Come hungry and prepared to use your Spanish! This local place with decent parking close to the University is a cool find. The prices are reasonable and portions are large, and the servers are friendly, even if they aren't all fluent in English. It can get a little loud if the music is playing, but I didn't think it was unreasonably so.

Very delicious and, I think, authentic Latin food. I am very NOT Latino, but if I had to make up what Latin food is supposed to taste like, this would be it. Arroz con pollo was flavorful and plentiful. We also had a meat dish with a name I can't recall. Beef was tender and tasty. Everything was very fresh and presented with care. Service was extremely friendly and the prices are very fair for portion size and complexity of preparation. The ambience was clean and attractive, except for very loud Latin music coming from the bar area. We will definitely return!

Want high quality eats and really friendly folk? ... come here , even though Mi español es limitado con un acento terrible ... I was treated warmly and can't wait to bring the gang! For me, I was glad to see an extensive menu with many high quality ingredient choices ... but the best part was a complete English translation!! Chips bean and salsa served as we sat, quick service ... WE delayed because the food was so flavorful. The atmosphere is welcoming with a real low key vibe. Nice bar off to the side and a very pleasant layout. The chicken and veggies were served with a really tasty sauce and crunchy fresh. This for lunch was no big expense either ... hmmm I'm getting hungry now ... shrimp and steak plate mmmmm.
